This Training Will Make You
When I was in college, I had a friend named Jacob. Jacob was a bit of a flawed genius. We’ll skip the flawed part for now, and focus on the genius…
Jacob was 15 in his freshman year in college. He aced all the courses he cared about. And he’d have conversations with the university’s smartest professors as if they were peers.
Jacob didn’t merely think about things. He thought about how to think about things. This “meta” perspective is part of what made him so smart.
Which brings me to intelligence.
In his spare time, Jacob thought about things like intelligence. Not just how to be intelligent, but what intelligence actually is. Which might give you context as to why Jacob often repeated this definition to me, in late night conversations at the local coffee joint:
“Intelligence is the ability to acquire and apply information.”
Now, there are a few different definitions of intelligence. And there are ways that intelligence is measured.
For example, you can be great at acquiring and applying information, but you can suck at IQ tests.
In this case, the test would say you have a lower IQ (aka, you’re “not intelligent”). But when you go out into the business world, for example, you may be really great at making sales and profits, or products people want to buy. And, in fact, you might be seen as highly-intelligent by your business colleagues.
If you’ve ever wondered why many people who are hugely-successful at business stunk it up in school and had low GPAs (and even low IQs), this is it.
School focuses on types of intelligence they can measure.
But those who create measurable success in business display the kind of intelligence best captured by Jacob’s definition: the ability to acquire and apply business-related information.
The better you get at acquiring and applying business-related information, the better results you can generate.
Mind Mapping is one of my greatest secrets…
I’ve been pretty successful in business, since deciding that marketing, copywriting, and business were my path, back in 2005.
At the time, I had zero background in marketing or business.
But, I knew I had that special kind of intelligence: I had worked hard and gotten really good at acquiring and applying information. And I could use that intelligence to learn how to create business results. Specifically in the fields of direct response marketing and copywriting.
So, I studied. I dug in. I watched, listened to, and read all that I could get my hands on.
I picked up principles, strategies, techniques, and tactics everywhere I could.
And I learned how to mind map.
I’d pour all the information I picked up into mind maps. These represented what I was learning — plus the insights and perspectives I gained in the process.
Then, as I applied what I was learning, I’d get even more information, and could update my mind maps with these new insights and perspectives.
This was how I made it to the “A-list,” fast…
For the most part, there truly is nothing new under the sun.
Only new applications for old ideas, insights, strategies, principles.
Your secret to rapid success is going out and acquiring as much of that proven wisdom — such as what I share in BTMSinsiders — and applying it to your situation.
Do that, and you’ll be surprised at how quick and easy the breakthroughs are.
And although I’ve tried dozens of different tools, I keep coming back to the simple mind map.
Because I’ve discovered that anyone who gets really good at mind mapping also thinks better and has a better applied intelligence — and ability to generate results, in business or wherever they choose to apply themselves.
Which brings me to the top mind mapping expert I know: Joseph Rodrigues…
Joseph is my business and productivity coach.
Among other roles and joint ventures, he also runs a YouTube channel with tens of thousands of subscribers where he gives his insights and perspectives into top business books, using mind maps he’s created.
And his videos actually put him on Jay Abraham’s radar, where he’s served in many roles including as the Abraham Head of Curriculum. (You may have heard him interview Jay on Jay’s Ultimate Entrepreneur show, episode 54.)
Joseph is one of the world’s leading authorities on using the skill and process of mind mapping to acquire and apply business information and skills.
I don’t know his IQ, but he’s certainly intelligent by the definition above.
He’s used his intelligence to build and sell one business, is building another, is doing JVs with incredible partners on a regular basis, and is quickly developing his direct response chops and applying them to grow his business.
He also teaches mind mapping, and has caused me to level up my approach and results with some of the secrets he’s shared.
I asked Joseph to reveal his top mind mapping strategies you can use to help you get the most out of your BTMSinsiders membership…
Here’s the thing. Getting started with mind mapping is pretty intuitive. It’s fast and easy to pick up.
But when you speak with someone like Joseph who has spent so much time thinking about how to think and learn better with mind maps, there’s an extra X-factor you get…
You realize this is one of those things where “it takes a minute to learn, a lifetime to master.”
And so Joseph agreed to share specific principles, strategies, techniques, and tactics to help you acquire and apply the information in BTMSinsiders — and all other business training…
So you can more rapidly increase your business intelligence — and the results you get.
By going through this training and applying what Joseph teaches about how to mind map for breakthrough business results, you will develop more applied intelligence in business.
That, in turn, will lead to better results and bigger ROI.
I can’t wait to hear about how this training helps you create even bigger wins in your business and career.
Yours for bigger breakthroughs,
Joseph uncovered his passion for entrepreneurship when he discovered the leveragability of the internet at 15 years old. After hitting a ceiling on his entreprenural growth, he dedicated 10 years in corporate America learning about systems, processes and big business building and management methodologies.
In 2009 he left corporate with a wealth of experience and understanding, connected back to his entreprenural roots and started his IT business which he grew to service 50+ clients in the Toronto, Canada area. After a few years, he began selling off his clients to other IT firms and started a YouTube channel based on his deep passion for sharing valuable experiences with other entrepreneurs.
A few years later his Youtube channel skyrocketed in popularity, turning his art and labor of love into a successful business with multiple revenue streams using a lean operational methodology allowing him to be paid well to do what he loves, through an elevated dedication and commitment to the growth of the entrepreneur while travelling the world and having a lot of fun.
